Finish #10 is a sweater that my nephew Harry requested. When Harry was in high school, I knit him a school sweater and now he has graduated from COLLEGE and still wears that sweater I knit him all those many years ago (melts my heart).....He requested a college sweater this time and I was happy to oblige. The pattern I used is more "adult" and complex in its construction than the one I made him prior and it fits him like a glove! I am so glad he likes it.

Finish #9 is ANOTHER bunny (girl this time, named BELLA) dressed in a blue and gray dress and blue shoes. I put her in my Etsy Shop for Easter and she will come with a little knit basket. She was very fun to make and has a personality of her own.
Finish #8 is a stuffed bunny boy named BENJAMIN wearing a blue and gray sweater. I put him in my Etsy Shop for Easter and as of today, he is still there. He comes with a little Easter basket (not shown) As usual, he was very fun to make as they all have their own personality.
Finish #7 is a Quilt that I call "Emerald Isle" Quilt. I made it for St. Patrick's Day and put it in my Etsy Shop but really it would be great for anyone that loves green. It is still in my shop post St, Patrick's Day. This quilt was REALLY fun to make as I used a technique called "Disappearing Nine-Patch" that I had never tried before. It means that you make a bunch of Nine-Patch squares and then cut them up, re-arrange them and then sew them back together. The day of this photo shoot, there was MORE fresh snow so I did the shoot in the fresh snow again. I will definitely be making another Disappearing Nine-Patch soon.
Finish #6 is a sweater that my niece Vivian requested. She wanted a Harry Potter sweater so I found a pattern that was based on the sweaters that Mrs. Weasley made for Harry and company. Apparently the sweaters in the books were not real structured and sometimes didn't fit very well.....I tried to make this one look not particularly structured, but it fits like a glove.
Finish #5 is this cream colored flop-eared bunny wearing a bright red sweater. I think he is cute, but his frowny face may make some folks think he is crabby.....which he is not. As usual, I love making the stuffed toys! I still have him at home today.
"Finish #4 is a Quilt that I called "Pixilated Heart". I have made a couple of these in the last few years and they are very fun to make. I used a combination of reds, grays and creams for the heart and then bright white for the background and then a deep red binding. There was a fresh coating of snow the day I did my photo shoot so I took it outside and tried my best to lay it down without blemishing the fresh snow. I put this in my Etsy shop and it sold within a day or so to a woman in California. I hope she is enjoying it!
Finish #3 is another Penguin Hat but this time in gray instead of blue. This was equally as fun to make as the blue version. I took this one to a shop that only sells handmade goods called The Calico Moose in Cambridge, MN. It sold within a week or so of putting it in the shop.
Finish #2 is a really cut penguin hat that I posted on my Etsy page that sold in a matter of minutes to a woman in NY City. It was very fun to make but I had to keep my eye on the chart as I was knitting so the penguins would all turn out looking like penguins. This hat also has the first Latvian Braid I had ever knitted. That was really fun to do!! I hope the recipient is enjoying it!!
I have been crafting most of my life an have never kept track of everything I have finished in a year. Well, I decided to keep track in 2022. The thing could have been STARTED years ago, as most people that craft have many UFO's (Unfinished Objects) in their arsenal, but as long as I finish it in 2022, it is getting counted here.
FINISH #1 - Pillow covers for my cousin's daughter Anna, FINISHED January 9, 2022 These were challenging to make because the fabric Anna chose was very thick so when I went to hand-sew the final seam, I couldn't get the needle through four layers of fabric.....Plan B, make the pillow covers the envelope style that open in the back. They turned out nicely if I do say so myself. |
